Help Sammie’s Friends Shelter This Season of Giving

This year has been especially challenging for Sammie’s Friends Shelter. On average, we’ve operated at 170% of our capacity, and the year isn’t even over yet. To date, we’ve taken in 199 puppies, a steep increase from last year’s 144, and 421 kittens, compared to 348 the year before. Right now, we’re caring for 42 puppies who will need loving homes in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, the rise in puppies and kittens means adult dogs and cats in our care are being overlooked, spending more time in the shelter than ever before.

Every animal in our shelter is spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. With rising costs for these essential services, our expenses have more than doubled this year.
