Membership of Possibility

A picture rarely tells the entire story! This looks like a happy mom holding her precious new baby girl. Actually the woman is a pediatric hospice nurse and baby is 2 months old having survived a few weeks past the original prognosis. Baby was born with osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) and the most severe form. It is commonly known as brittle bone disease. This precious baby suffered bone breaks during delivery and is all wrapped up for extra protection in simply being picked up. Just imagine the waiting game of knowing your new baby will not survive and the time together is extra fragile. To make matters more challenging, baby's mom with no family of her own in the area, was separated from baby's dad and forced to leave the home. Mom is dependent upon the generosity of others for 100% of both their care including a place to live, food to eat, transportation to all medical appointments, utilities etc, This is a horrific experience.

Place of Possibility Inc has been working with hospice services to provide support for the family including holiday meals and this special visit from Santa to bring mom and baby basic supplies for survival. We will be paying rent for mom next month and hope to be able to continue to support this family as long as the help is needed.

Our modest goal of $25,000. will help us take the next step in growth and enable us to help save a family or two from financial ruin on top of one of the most challenging experiences a parent can have, the passing of their child.
