Since opening as a coffee shop in 1993, Planet Ant has become a creative epicenter in Metro Detroit — a home where a colony of creatives explores the limits of their comedic and artistic expression.
Today, our complex spans five venues, stages, and places for our colony of artists.
In the last 30 years, these stages have hosted thousands of performances — improv and burlesque, stand-up and space operas, musicals and music festivals, and so much more. Planet Ant is proud to provide creative professional opportunities for a diverse community of local and visiting artists.
Planet Ant strives to foster the Metro Detroit arts scene, offering a community for aspiring artists to discover their creative voices, a training program for growing artists to hone their craft, and a proving ground for artists who have the potential for national and international acclaim.
