MLK Day of Service at Jubilee Community Center

This Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jubilee Community Center is hosting a Day of Service rooted in care, dignity, creativity, and community connection.

Your donation helps make possible a morning where neighbors can serve together, share a meal, and experience live community arts — all while honoring Dr. King’s legacy of collective action and compassion.

What your support makes possible:

🌼 Community Service & Beautification
Volunteers will plant daffodils around The Sanctuary in honor of the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States — a symbol of hope, renewal, and shared responsibility.

🥞 Free Community Brunch & Takeaway Meals
We will provide a free pancake brunch during the event, along with packable takeaway meals (rice & beans).
Any extra food will be shared with local spots where unhoused community members are likely to be staying, for those unable to attend in person.

🎤 Live Entertainment – Community Open Mic
Live music, poetry, and spoken word will create space for joy, reflection, and creative expression — reminding us that service also includes culture and connection.

🤝 Volunteer-Powered Impact
Community members can donate their time by registering through HandsOn River Region to assist with planting, food prep and packing, serving meals, and event support.
