We're holding a flash fundraiser for a flash incubator—help us expand our reach as we prepare for the fourth annual PlayGround Dance Project! We are launching this flash fundraiser with the goal to raise the artist honorariums to better reflect the local living wage, as well as offer 5 additional dancers a spot in the project. We will also continue to refine our submission and audition process to diversify our participant demographic to better reflect our local community. And finally, we have goals to broaden our audience through expanded marketing strategies.

About PlayGround Dance Project
PlayGround Dance Project is a flash incubator that provides 5 choreographers and 20 dancers the opportunity to create new works in a one-week experience. PlayGround supports artistic exploration and promotes risk-taking, collaborative processes, and experimental dancemaking. PlayGround was first launched in Summer 2023 with support from the Salt Lake City Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. Founded and Directed by Roxanne Gray, this event is bound to become an integral part of our local Salt Lake City community.

PlayGround is designed to support freelance dance artists local to Salt Lake City and surrounding areas, providing them with time, space, and a platform to create and explore. The dancers and choreographers are given one week, or 8 hours, to create five new pieces of work to be performed in a fully-produced show at the Leona Wagner Black Box Theater. Every dancer, choreographer, and artist involved in the show is awarded a fair honorarium and valuable resources for working in the community.
