Safe, Sensory Playgrounds

When you think of your elementary schools experience, there is a good chance that some of your greatest lessons were learned on the playground.  It is an essential part of a student's elementary years.

The current playgrounds for our  Leeds Elementary students in grades Pre- K-5 have aged past the point where they are no longer conducive for safe play.  They are also not accessible for all Leeds students, especially our students with special abilities.  There is no school district budget earmarked for the second playground needed for the older kids.  Just the Pre-K.

If a new playground is not installed this summer, the current playground for upper grade levels at Leeds Elementary School will need to be removed.  Leeds Elementary students will begin the 2024-2025 school year without a playground for the upper grades.

Envision your elementary school without a playground.  It's difficult to imagine isn't it?  Will you make sure our students have a safe and accessible playground?

Your gift will help us raise the $190,000 we need by the end of the school year to fund a new, fully accessible playground for the upper grades at Leeds Elementary School.  The new playgrounds will allow all students a place to explore, engage, and experience skill-building outside of the classroom.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-elPmDIBps&feature=youtu.be
