April Pack Leader of the Month: Meet Maverick

Maverick is a one year old Golden Retriever with a heart as big as his energy level. Born around December 24, 2024, he currently weighs about 65 pounds and is expected to grow into a strong, athletic 70 to 75 pound adult. He is available for adoption through Adopt a Golden Nashville and is the definition of a joyful, affectionate, and spirited young dog.

Maverick was lovingly surrendered by a family who recognized that he needed more time, structure, and activity than they could provide. Now, he is looking for a home that can match his enthusiasm for life and help him grow into the incredible dog he is meant to be.

True to his breed, Maverick loves everyone he meets. He greets the world with excitement, affection, and a whole lot of bounce. He is playful, goofy, and incredibly sweet, with a personality that brings energy and laughter wherever he goes. He thrives on connection and wants to be part of everything his people are doing, whether that means long walks, a game of fetch, or curling up close at the end of the day.

Maverick is smart, food motivated, and eager to learn. He already responds well to positive, force free training and has so much potential to become an exceptional companion. As a high energy young dog, he is still learning how to make good choices and will benefit from consistency, patience, and continued guidance. With the right support, his future is incredibly bright.

He is affectionate with people but can be enthusiastic in his greetings, which means he may accidentally knock over small children. For this reason, he would do best in a home with older, dog savvy kids who understand how to reinforce training and respect boundaries.

Maverick also loves other dogs and would thrive with an energetic canine companion who enjoys playtime as much as he does. He can be persistent and playful, sometimes overwhelming more laid back dogs, but with proper outlets and structure, he continues to improve and learn every day.

As an active, high energy dog, Maverick needs daily exercise and mental stimulation to feel his best.
