Meet Derek

Derek has been incarcerated for nearly 10 years. He last saw his daughter, Chloe, just two weeks ago, but he says he’s missed so much of her growing up. “She’s outgoing, outspoken, and a good child,” Derek says proudly. “She’s working at Cane’s while going to school, and I’m proud of her.”

This time, I think it’ll give her hope. I tell her I love her all the time, but when we dance, she’ll be able to actually feel it.”
