Invest in the Future of Pipeline Data Management

For nearly 30 years, the PODS Association has brought together pipeline operators, regulators, service providers, software vendors, and industry professionals to advance safer, smarter, and more efficient pipeline data management.

Our success has always been driven by people. Volunteers build standards, lead working groups, develop training programs, share lessons learned, and mentor the next generation of industry leaders. The PODS Scholarship Fund extends that mission by helping students and emerging professionals gain access to the education, resources, and opportunities needed to build meaningful careers in GIS, data management, integrity management, engineering, and pipeline operations.

Each year, the PODS Scholarship Committee partners directly with university programs — including geospatial and midstream programs at schools like Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, University of Houston, Western Kentucky University, Penn State University, and Florida A&M University — to award scholarship funds to qualifying students. We place particular emphasis on reaching underserved areas and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), helping open doors to students who might not otherwise have a clear path into the pipeline GIS or Data Management professions. Beyond the financial award, PODS representatives visit these programs to give career talks and connect students with real-world GIS and Data Management career paths, and we coordinate with student groups on volunteer opportunities that build hands-on experience and provide networking opportunities.

Scholarship recipients gain opportunities to connect with a global community of experts, participate in industry events, access educational resources, and develop the skills needed to support the safe and reliable transportation of energy worldwide.

PODS serves a global community spanning more than 40 countries and supporting over 200 pipeline operators. As our industry continues to evolve through digital transformation, AI, GIS, integrity management, and regulatory compliance initiatives, investing in the next generation of professionals has never been more important.

Every donation, regardless of size, helps us:

Support scholarships for students and early-career professionals, including underserved communities and HBCUs

Encourage participation in PODS committees, working groups, and community initiatives

Historically, PODS has funded these scholarships directly out of our annual fund. Now, we're inviting our members and community to join us — starting with a goal of matching our current $10,000 annual scholarship fund, so we can double our impact and award more scholarships to more students, at more schools, every year.
