Poetry is Busy Studio

Poetry is Busy Studio (PIBS) is an artist-run cultural initiative centered on the well-being of artists, established in Massachusetts, with strong ties to Puerto Rico and ongoing work on the island. Under the leadership of Queer, Afro-Caribbean poet Yara Liceaga-Rojas, we create spaces for artists to thrive through care-based practices that center sustainability, healing, and collective power. We offer bilingual (Spanish/English) programming, including professional development workshops, performances, artist readings, community conferences, and mutual skill-sharing sessions. Our work reaches artists who are often under-resourced, overworked, and asked to produce within harmful systems that devalue their labor.
