Last fall families from Pond Cove School partnered with Backyard Blooms, Chickadeeds, and The Yellow Tulip Project to design and install a Hope Garden on campus. 35 volunteers came together to dig grass, turn soil, and plant 1,000 tulip bulbs and 300 allium bulbs. The purpose of the garden is to serve as an uplifting space for educators and students to have conversations about mental health and hope. The large circular garden with its rock border and sprouting bulbs is visible from Scott Dyer Rd near the north exit of Pond Cove School.
Please help us fulfill our garden budget so that we can complete the install this spring. We're planning to add hydrangeas, blueberry bushes, sedum, and zinnias so that the garden blooms throughout the spring and summer. You can view the garden design
here.
Yellow tulips are a symbol of hope. When communities come together, get their hands dirty planting a garden, and talk about mental health, hope blooms!
