The Portraits of Pride Ball is a benefit gala for the Boston LGBTQ+ Museum of Art, History & Culture. The ball celebrates the Portraits of Pride exhibit and Portraits of Pride Award recipients and raises funds to support the museum's mission, programs and future planning.

Boston LGBTQ+ Museum of Art, History & Culture

Founded as a social justice art organization, the mission of the Boston LGBTQ+ Museum is to research, collect, conserve, interpret, and exhibit materials to educate the public on the history of the LGBTQ+ movement in Boston and regionally through art while creating opportunities for diverse LGBTQ+ artists in order to foster a queer culture in the Boston and throughout Massachusetts and the New England region.

Portraits of Pride Exhibit

Portraits of Pride is an annual large-scale public art photography exhibit that started in 2022 with the mission to illuminate the stories of LGBTQ+ individuals and commemorate the progress made by our marginalized community. In the face of hateful rhetoric legislative threats, and attacks on LGBTQ+ people and even our exhibit, our installation stands as a beacon of LGBTQ+ advocacy and visibility, guiding us towards a future of inclusivity and acceptance. The Portraits installation serves as temporary monuments for the equality movement. This year exhibit will be installed on Sea Green Park in Seaport.

Portraits of Pride Award

The Portraits of Pride Award is presented by the Boston LGBTQ+ Museum of Art, History, and Culture, to recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to the LGBTQ+ community, particularly in the fields of art, activism, and community leadership. Recipients of the award are honored for their dedication, advocacy, allyship and impact on advancing LGBTQ+ rights and visibility. The award celebrates and elevate LGBTQ+ voices and achievements, inspiring future generations to continue the fight for equality and inclusion.
