The Pretty in Pink Foundation mission is to provide uninsured and under-insured breast cancer patients in North Carolina with financial assistance for quality, life-saving medical treatment.

In 2004, Raleigh breast cancer surgeon, Dr. Lisa Tolnitch, discovered that some of her patients were not completing their treatment plans after diagnosis of breast cancer. Many lacked the funds to pay for chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, and were being forced to choose between paying for medical treatment or living expenses. Unable to accept this potentially deadly reality, Dr. Tolnitch was motivated to establish Pretty In Pink Foundation. Since serving its first patient in 2006, the Foundation has covered the cost of thousands of life-saving treatments for breast cancer patients – our Champions - in North Carolina.
