The L.I.N.K.S. (Leadership, Independence, Neighborly, Knowledge and Skills) Initiative is a transitional training day program for young adults with disabilities ages 18-35 that is designed to build vocational skills, increase social skills, and enhance character. It is designed to:
- To provide opportunities that connect individuals with disabilities to their vision of flourishing in the community
- To design events that connect individuals with disabilities to opportunities that optimize their personal, social, civil, and vocational abilities
- To create activities that will strengthen the skills and confidence of individuals with disabilities and foster relationships that provide opportunities
- To increase access to prospects and provide training that will enable individuals with disabilities to connect to a more independent life
- To promote collaboration with business partners and community stakeholders for effective implementation
- To help focus and streamline transition IEP development
