Joining Zeta Mu Phi has been one of the most meaningful decisions I've made this year. As a new member of this incredible sorority, I am honored to stand alongside women who are committed to making a positive impact in our community. I pledge my support to our philanthropy, Illuminate, which was established in 2023 with a mission close to my heart: fighting against trafficking and abuse at a local level. Southeast Texas, where I call home, faces significant challenges when it comes to sex trafficking and abuse. Despite its small-town charm and tight-knit communities, our region is not immune to these devastating issues. In fact, our location along major highways makes it a hub for trafficking, where vulnerable individuals, especially women and children, are often targeted and exploited. Illuminate's mission is to shine a light on these dark corners of our community, providing resources, support, and hope to those affected. As part of this effort, we raise funds annually to support these initiatives and ensure that we can continue to make a difference. My commitment to this cause is personal. The impact that trafficking and abuse can have on individuals and families is a reality that is often hidden from view, but it affects us all. By supporting Illuminate, I am dedicated to helping break the cycle of exploitation and bringing hope to those who need it most. Every donation to Illuminate goes directly towards helping survivors rebuild their lives, educating our community on the dangers of trafficking and abuse, and advocating for stronger protections and resources.
