Our first NICU journey started with Vinny in 2021 when he surprised us at 29 weeks. Vinny spent 44 long days in the NICU, part of the time at Dartmouth Medical Center in New Hampshire, and part of the time at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.

Nico, our second NICU warrior, came at 33 weeks and spent 10 days in Fairview Hospital in 2023. Our fundraiser is to support both of the amazing hospitals that supported our two babies during the time we needed it most.

Being in the NICU is full of a world of unknowns, and being able to help give future families some comfort to navigate that world as an ambassador is so important to me. I received a care package while Vinny was in the NICU during some of our hardest times, with a hand written note inside from a fellow NICU mom, and having someone who had been in my shoes and knew exactly what I was experiencing made all the difference in the world to me.

Knowing I had this group to rely on helped me through our second NICU stay, and now my goal is to be able to assist future families through this amazing group as an ambassador and in any ways I can help families and the wonderful hospital staff that care for them.

Project NICU offers connection, support and community to all involved in the NICU Journey. From NICU Care Packages, Peer Support, Graduate Programming, events and more we are here for every step of the journey. Led by NICU Parents, our programs are designed with first hand experience with support by NICU medical professionals on our advisory board to truly create an environment where families and NICU Teams can feel supported.
