We're excited to launch our 2023 Promise Campaign, our major annual fundraiser, to help ensure we can continue to empower youth by providing equal access to educational opportunities and hands-on career experiences.

Since 2015, we've worked with more than 1600 youth across the region, helping them explore career paths and develop skills to set them on the path toward success. This year, we celebrated the graduation of youth who have been with On the Road since Day 1. We are so proud of this group. Through our after-school and summer learning programs, your support provides our youth with our signature 10-week Career Enrichment Courses, tutoring and homework assistance, field trips, college visits, and mentorship from a community of caring adults. This year, we are also excited to be piloting job shadowing experiences for our high school youth. Job shadowing is a great opportunity for our youth to see what a potential career looks like in action. We’re thrilled for them to get out of the classroom and into the workplace. These opportunities are essential in closing the learning gap and helping our youth realize their promise. 

As always, we are committed to ensuring On the Road is accessible for every youth. That is why our programs are free, take place on school grounds, and provide transportation home. We are especially grateful for the support of the community, and key partners such as Sentara Health, who made it possible for us to attain vans and develop a new transportation model for our Harrisonburg programs. We hope to complete this initiative with your support this year.

On top of that, we continued our expansion in Waynesboro City Schools by beginning programming at Waynesboro High School. We are now pleased to serve youth in grades 6-12 across Kate Collins Middle School and WHS.
