The Protection Fund looks at the bigger picture. It is designed to proactively protect communities, investigate cruelty, and change laws to ensure horses and other animals are safe on a macro level, both here at home and across the globe.

Global Impact & Emergency Medical Grants: This fund provides a critical safety net for horses and animals facing desperate situations on a worldwide level. Through specialized international grants, we fund life-saving medical care, emergency interventions, and critical rescue operations for animals caught in global crises, severe international neglect, economic collapses, or regions lacking localized animal welfare infrastructure.
Cruelty Investigations: Funding the brave investigators on the frontlines exposing systemic abuses, such as the "Big Lick" walking horse cruelty, the international slaughter pipeline, hoarding situations, and abandonment.
Educational Outreach & Law Enforcement Training: We believe that education is the ultimate form of prevention. This fund fuels specialized educational programs designed to train law enforcement officers, animal control, and animal first responders on how to properly identify equine neglect, understand body conditioning scores, and legally intervene in abuse cases. Furthermore, our public outreach initiatives educate communities on proper animal care and highlight the profound, therapeutic ways horses heal and help humans, fostering a culture of mutual respect and compassion.

Disaster Response & Relief: A rapid-response fund to deploy medical aid, food, and rescue resources to animals caught in the wake of natural disasters like floods, wildfires, tornadoes and hurricanes.
Legislative Advocacy: Lobbying for stricter animal welfare laws, banning cruel training and transport practices, and giving teeth to anti-cruelty legislation.
