Story
A police officer with Gulfport Police Department shot 15-year-old Jahiem McMillan in the head and killed him on Oct. 6 in Gulfport, MS in front of a Family Dollar store. Witnesses state Jahiem was unarmed, and his hands were up when the officer shot him. He was a 15-year-old beautiful boy.
Community activists in Gulfport, with the support of Jahiem's family, have been organizing daily protests in Gulfport to demand release of the body and dash cam footage, and the protests are getting the attention of national media, advocates and activists. The protests will continue indefinitely, including this Saturday, Oct. 15 at Gulfport Police Department.
We need to help keep these protests going! Supplies like water, hand sanitizer, masks, snacks and sign-making supplies are needed, and we'd like to remove this burden from the organizers and community members so they can focus on organizing.
Chip in $1, $5 or more toward our goal of raising $1000 toward purchase of these supplies. Any remaining funds left after protests end will go directly to Jahiem's family.
