PS 20 Anna Silver School and Artists Athletes Activists will be teaming up to host a community 5K run/walk and the 2nd Annual Plant-Based Community Health Day on Saturday October 1st in the Lower East Side in Manhattan. This will be a celebration of the upcoming school year as well as a fundraising event for the families of PS 20 and Artists Athletes Activists.

PS 20 is a Pre-K-5 Title 1 Elementary School that has Dual Language Spanish and Mandarin programs. Due to NYC budget cuts, fundraising will be crucial for PS 20 to keep art programs, as well as continue to offer goods and services to their families such as our food pantry, enrichment programs, after school programs, and more. Artists Athletes Activists has been instrumental in providing plant-based food options and fresh produce weekly to PS 20 students, their families as well as the Lower East Side Community at large. PS 20 and our local community like many others have been struggling with food insecurity, which has been enhanced by the pandemic. A.A.A not only delivers fresh produce, but they are installing Plant-Based community refrigerators in District 1 schools, and the local community which are restocked weekly.

Artists Athletes Activists ha sido fundamental para proporcionar opciones de alimentos a base de plantas y productos frescos semanalmente a los estudiantes de PS 20, sus familias y la comunidad del Lower East Side en general. PS 20 y nuestra comunidad local, como muchas otras, han estado luchando contra la inseguridad alimentaria, que se ha visto agravada por la pandemia.
