Put Shoes on Feet in Lansing

For months, our director has donated plasma twice a week to buy shoes for neighbors who go without. That money comes out of one person's body, every week, and the need is bigger than one person can cover.

A pair of newer, water-resistant winter shoes costs about $76. Our goal this winter is 48 pairs, six times our first year.

Who we serve
We focus on adult men in our community. They are often overlooked, many are living with mental illness, and most will never ask for help. We serve women and children too, because young kids often outgrow their shoes before they wear them out, and families on tight budgets can't keep up.

Why winter shoes
Cloth shoes that work in summer let in snow and slush. Wet, freezing feet lead to frostbite, foot injuries, and illness, and make it hard to get to work, medical care, and services. A good pair of water-resistant shoes changes someone's whole winter.

What your gift does
$25 helps us buy a pair
$76 puts one person in winter shoes
$152 covers two people
$380 covers five people

Our promise
Every pair goes to someone in the Lansing area. We never photograph the people we help. Photographing a person in their time of need is shitty behavior, and we won't do it. We report back to you in numbers served instead.

Have shoes to give?
We accept new and used shoes for all ages and genders at our Lansing office, 6035 Executive Dr, Suite 1014. Walk-ins are welcome and appointments are preferred. Email info@thechurchofmanyhands.org.
