The need for affordable, quality housing is Rockford is sharper than ever. As the temperatures drop and COVID-19 keeps us indoors, think of the "indoors" that many Rockfordians endure. Bad plumbing, faulty wiring, infestations, and broken or impaired heating represents a portion of the realities many hardworking families face. Many families work hard, multiple shifts just to remain in too-small residences. And to top that off, their housing costs are often extremely high, eating up often a majority of families' income.

At Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity we are proud to build and sell affordable homes with no-interest loans to our amazing partner families. Each home means stability and relief for families, allowing them to thrive and strengthening our communities one home and family at a time.

This Giving Tuesday marks the first day in our Hammer and Nail Challenge, where we challenge our community to help us raise $10,000 and reach 50 active monthly donors throughout December.
