🌟 Giving Tuesday: When Community Truly Makes the Difference 🌟
Clay County Animal Shelter has faced a barrage of challenges in just the past two weeks — and today, more than ever, we need our community to stand with us.

💔 Five Chihuahuas Surrendered
Their owner was unexpectedly placed in a nursing home, leaving these small seniors confused and scared. They arrived needing full vetting, dental checks, and lots of reassurance. 💔 A Heartbreaking Family Loss
We were contacted about 12 dogs and 8 cats left behind with the elderly, handicapped parents of a man who tragically passed away. Because our shelter is completely full, we cannot intake these dogs — but we refused to leave this family without help. We have delivered food, are arranging to have their pets spay/neutered, providing vaccines and helping them find loving homes for each animal. Even without space, we are doing everything possible to prevent these pets from becoming another crisis.

💔 Spirit & Her Newborns
Many of you already know Spirit, the brave mama rescued from an abandoned home. She gave birth to 9 puppies, and caring for a nursing mom plus a litter is a tremendous undertaking — vetting, vaccines, dewormer, food, supplies, and around-the-clock monitoring.

🐾 Three emergencies. Two weeks. One tiny rural shelter doing everything we can.
