Hello fellow Camp Fire and Camp Killoqua supporters!

We are so lucky to be a part of this wonderful community in Snohomish County! As my first fiscal year as Executive Director is coming to a close, I have been looking back on what we have accomplished with your help this year. It has been an incredible year, full of changes and growth. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to send 74 kids to Camp Killoqua at little or no charge to their families. Even more exciting, every one of those youth were provided with a “Camp Essentials” kit when they arrived at Camp Killoqua. This included sleeping bags, beach towels, toiletries, socks, flashlights, and money to spend in the Trading Post just like their peers. The recipients received these items discreetly so that they could fit right in with the other campers!

There were also 24 Day campers that were able to attend Day Camp at Camp Killoqua thanks to the kindness of our donors.

We are so grateful and excited to do even more in 2023!

With your help, we are planning to provide even more Campships for youth to attend camp this coming summer. We have created an exciting new partnership to bring a new group of youth to camp this summer, and we will share more about this in the coming weeks!

Our goal is to bring the number of Campship youth to resident camp to at least 100 for 2023! We know we can do it with your support!

Our Self Reliance program is also in a growth phase, with several new schools starting the in-class programs this spring. The Self Reliance program is provided to youth in the classroom at little or no cost to the school. Camp Fire instructors teach different courses for one-hour a week for 6-8 weeks. The programs vary from Health and Nutrition to Self Esteem/Peer and Anti-Bullying education. In addition to Self Reliance, we are growing our Babysitting Basics program with partner organizations to teach young people how to be effective and responsible babysitters.

We are also in the process of expanding our Mega Club programs. These are clubs that meet in community centers one to four times a week. They provide a safe, stable environment for youth in these communities to have fun, learn and get to know each other. These are generally low-income and temporary housing communities.

This year, I have seen the power of our community and the incredible support that you have given us. Camp Fire Snohomish County and Camp Killoqua have so much to offer youth, and I know with your help we can reach so many more than ever before!

Here is how you can help us grow this coming year:

Your end of year contribution will do the following in 2023:

$25 – Provides snacks for 20 youth at our Mega Clubs for one week
$50 – Provides an instructor for Self-Reliance course in the classroom for one week
$75 – Provides one resident camper with a camper essential pack next summer
$100 – Provides craft supplies for a Mega Club for the school year
$250 – Covers the cost of instructors for 2 weeks of Mega Club
$325 – Gives one youth a week at Day Camp
$500 – Revitalize our supplies and materials for teaching Babysitting Basics
$750 – Gives one youth a week at Resident Camp

Higher amounts are welcome if you dream as big as we do!
