About First Gen Success

Founded in 2019, First Gen Success partners with schools across the Charlotte area to provide mentorship, resources, and scholarships to first-generation students. With the guidance of dedicated mentors, volunteers, and community supporters like you, we create opportunities to inspire confidence and ensure college readiness. This year, we’re working with scholars from four partner schools.

What Your Donation Supports

Textbooks & Course Materials: Access to essential textbooks, online subscriptions, and study materials.
Technology Needs: Funding for laptops, software, and internet access to support academic success.
Transportation: Assistance with transit passes, gas, or travel expenses to campus and internships.
Dorm Essentials & Supplies: Bedding, kitchenware, and cleaning supplies for a comfortable living space.
Academic Supplies: Notebooks, calculators, and organizational tools for effective study.

Programming & Mentor/Scholar Enrichment Sessions: $500

Transportation for Scholars: Ensures scholars have access to funding for travel to programming and enrichment sessions, enabling full participation.

Textbooks & Course Materials: $250

Textbooks: Covers key textbooks and course materials required for classes.
Online Access Codes & Subscriptions: Ensures access to essential digital resources for coursework.

Technology Needs: $250

Laptop Assistance: Contributes to the cost of a laptop or necessary tech accessories.
Software & Internet Access: Supports purchasing essential academic software and internet connectivity for remote learning.

Dorm Essentials & Household Supplies: $200

Dorm Kit: Provides essentials like bedding, towels, and personal items to help students settle into campus life.
