This 3-hour workshop will provide tools, techniques, and insights for finding your authentic voice, becoming your own best editor, and performing your own work with power and presence. Take a risk. Take your work to the next level and beyond. Nobody teaches writing like Ron Whitehead. Dive head first into Ron's alchemical river of fire and you'll never be the same. The main purpose of this 3-hour workshop is to introduce you to yourself and to your soon to be birthed brilliant work. You will be challenged like never before. You will be amazed by your growth. Ron Whitehead has conducted writing workshops from Lapland to Louisville, from The Netherlands to New Orleans, across Europe and the USA. Please dress for the weather and bring a full water bottle and snacks – there is no running water or food conveniently located near the site. The program takes place rain or shine and will only be rescheduled in the event of extreme weather. Please check your email prior to coming in case of rescheduling. All ages and abilities are welcome, and dogs are also welcome if leashed and well-behaved. The program involves some sitting, standing, and slow movement on mostly flat terrain. About the artist: Poet, writer, editor, publisher, professor, scholar, activist, U.S. National Lifetime Beat Poet Laureate Ron Whitehead is the author of 30 books and 40 albums. A UNESCO Europe Writer-in-Residence, his work has been translated into 20 languages. The City of Louisville presented him with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in The Arts. He has been nominated for the Pulitzer and the Nobel Prize in Literature. He has produced thousands of music and poetry events, festivals, and Insomniacathons across Europe and the USA. In May 2024 he produced his 3rd 24-hour non-stop music & poetry Insomniacathon in Estonia. The Last Insomniacathon, a 57-hour non-stop music & poetry & arts happening, will take place at the Chapel of St. Philip Neri in Louisville. At 73, he continues to perform and record with The Storm Generation Band and many others. His newest book, TAPPING MY OWN PHONE, was just released by the National & International Beat Poetry Foundation. Several new books and albums will be released in 2024.
