Queer Camp is more than just a weekend away—it’s a vibrant, affirming space where LGBTQ+ adults come together to reconnect, recharge, and revel in the joy of community. 

Since 2020, Local Queer has brought together queer campers from all over Texas once a year for a weekend of community, bonding, and queer joy. From arts and crafts to field day games, we strive to offer the summer camp experience that most of us never received as queer youth. At Queer Camp, campers spend two nights and three days forming bonds with each other that last long after camp ends.

In its 5th year, camp will be hosted at Camp Moody in Buda - just 20 minutes south of downtown Austin! For the first time ever, we will enjoy total privacy, as all of Camp Moody's 80+ acres will be accessible only to Local Queer! Campers will have access to never before offered activities, like a 3-story rope challenge course, archery tag, and miles of hiking trails.

Queer Camp is really a community led event, and that's where you come in! We are seeking community partners and sponsors to make Queer Camp 2025 the best one yet. Camp is all inclusive for our campers - we sleep in tents under the open sky, prepare 4 meals, and run activities from sun up to well after sun down all with the help of a small volunteer team. It's no small feat but with the backing of our community, we achieve great things!

While we have specific sponsorship levels, donations of any amount make a huge difference for camp cost. Donors that donate at the $200+ level will be contacted for inclusion on the back of camp shirts!
