Youth OUTright's prom is a space for unconditional Queer & Trans youth joy.

We are honored to host our 13th Queer Youth Prom in Downtown Asheville on Sunday, May 19 from 5-9PM. We can't wait to welcome Queer and Trans youth from across Western North Carolina for a fantasy night of fun!

Entertainment

Queer prom will feature a variety of entertainers and activities! We will have DJs, drag performances, crafts, and interactive installations. Sev will be emceeing and performing in our Drag Show along with Incredible Violence and Alexis Black. The DJ for the silent disco will be boys camp!

Catering

We are so excited to have Catus Rainbow as our caterer this year! Every attendee will receive a food ticket that includes a beverage and a variety of protein, vegan, and gluten-free bites ranging from salty to sweet. Hors d'oeuvres and hand-held snacks will be available throughout the night.

Health & Safety

To ensure the safety of all our guests, we've hired a community safety team for prom. These individuals are practiced in de-escalation and have received appropriate training for their roles. Every attendee will go through a bag check. We will also have medics on location.

Accessibility

Earplugs will be available for free to all attendees, and light stimulation will be limited. We will have a decompression space for anyone who wants a break from the ball. The venue is wheelchair accessible with drop-off spaces at the entrance. If you have any accessibility needs, there is a space for you to share that information with us when you get a ticket.

We know that the traditional prom is not always a welcoming space for everyone, particularly LGBTQIA+ teens. Queer and Trans young people deserve an affirming, safe, and celebratory prom where they feel valued for who they are and how they express themselves.

We are grateful for all of our partners, donors, and volunteers who make it possible for us to bring the community together for this annual event. Our prom committee has been hard at work and you can be part of making the event a success too.

Here are just a few ways your donation will be used:

Community Safety
To ensure the safety of all our guests, we hire a community safety team for prom. A donation of $50 covers paying one community safety person for one hour of the event.
Subsidized Tickets
Prom is a no-turn-away event which means youth will not be prevented from attending because of a lack of funds. A donation of $30 covers the cost of one ticket. Help subsidize this expense so all youth can celebrate with us.
Decorations
Help us transform the venue into a high fantasy-themed spectacle. Bring on the potions, crystals, cauldrons, and more!
Entertainment
Prom will feature local DJs and drag performances for entertainment. Your donation supports equitable pay for these magnificent creatives!
Food & Beverage
What's a party without food?! Help us bring local flavors to our event that meet the dietary needs of all our youth.

Our goal is to raise $5,800 in donations to support this cherished annual event. All additional contributions will fund Youth OUTright general operations. Visit youthoutright.org to learn more about our organization.
