The Francis family is like many hardworking families trying to make ends meet in today’s difficult economy. They live in East Hartford, Connecticut, where rising rent prices and a shrinking safety net have pushed them to the brink. Despite their best efforts, they are now just two weeks away from eviction.

Mr. and Mrs. Francis are parents to two young children (ages 7 and 15), who are full of life, dreams, and potential. The children love school, their friends in the neighborhood, and the sense of security that comes from having a place to call home. But that security is now in jeopardy.

After a series of unexpected setbacks, including a reduction in work hours and medical expenses, the Francis family has fallen behind on rent. Their landlord has given a final notice, $1,836 must be paid within the next two weeks, or the eviction process will move forward.

This isn’t just about losing a roof. It’s about losing stability. It’s about two children potentially having to sleep in a car or bounce from shelter to shelter. It’s about a family teetering on the edge, needing just one helping hand to pull them back.

The Hallel Project Incorporated is working hard to prevent homelessness across Connecticut, and we are stepping in to help the Francis family stay in their home, but we need your support.
