Support Riders4Rights Mutual Aid

Since the summer of 2020, Riders4Rights has stood on the frontlines of community care in Crown Heights and BedStuy. What began as Black-led activists and abolitionists organizing at protests has grown into a mutual aid network built on the same principles of solidarity, resistance, and collective care. Today, our Giveback Day is our biggest activation: every second Saturday, rain or shine, dozens of community members come together to share groceries and clothing with our neighbors. No forms, no eligibility, just community taking care of community.

This year alone, over 200 families each month have relied on Giveback Days. Across five years, we’ve distributed over 70 tonnes of food, and we haven’t missed a single month.

Unfortunately, these needs continue to rise. With cuts to SNAP, city-funded food programs, and grocery donations, more of our neighbors are depending on mutual aid just to make it through the week.

The biggest challenge we face is also our biggest strength: We are not a non-profit, and that’s by design. We are a grassroots, abolitionist, Black-led mutual aid collective. That means every single dollar donated goes directly to our neighbors rather than overhead, salaries, or institutional gatekeeping. While nonprofits may be eligible for matching gifts, your dollar stretches even further with us:

A donation of just $5 feeds a family with fresh produce and groceries at Giveback Day.

There are no administrative costs. No paid staff. Every dollar goes straight to groceries, storage, transportation, and the supplies needed to make Giveback Day possible.

Our goal: $6,000 and more monthly donations.

One-time donations help us meet urgent needs, but monthly pledges keep Giveback Day running year-round. A recurring gift, even $10 or $25, means families can rely on use every single month, not just in a time of crisis.

If you believe in mutual aid and neighbors supporting neighbors, we’re asking you to stand with us by:

-Starting a monthly contribution

-Make a one-time donation
