Combat Food Insecurity: Sponsor a CSA for Inner-City Communities with Harper Phoenix Interfaith!
In our inner-city neighborhoods, food insecurity is not just a challenge; it's a crisis exacerbated by the lack of access to healthy food choices. At Harper Phoenix Interfaith, we are committed to addressing this pressing issue and empowering our communities to thrive. That's why we're launching a vital initiative: sponsoring a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program.
What is a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program?
A CSA program is a partnership between local farmers and community members. Participants purchase shares directly from local farms and receive a portion of the harvest throughout the growing season.
Why is this Important?
Many families in our inner-city neighborhoods struggle to access fresh, nutritious food. Instead, they're faced with limited options, often relying on processed and unhealthy alternatives due to the absence of grocery stores and farmers' markets in their communities. This lack of access contributes to higher rates of chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, disproportionately affecting marginalized populations.
How Can You Make a Difference?
By sponsoring a CSA share on behalf of Harper Phoenix Interfaith, you can directly impact the lives of individuals and families facing food insecurity. Your sponsorship will provide them with a source of fresh, locally grown produce, promoting better health outcomes and empowering them to make healthier food choices for themselves and their families.
The Power of Community Support
Together, we can break the cycle of food insecurity and promote access to healthy, nutritious food for all. Your support will not only provide tangible assistance to those in need but also send a powerful message of solidarity and compassion to our community.
How You Can Help?
Sponsor a CSA Share: Your donation of $49 a week for a Vegetable CSA share or $15 a week for a Fruit CSA share for 15 or 23.
Options include 15 or 23 Weeks to sponsor a full season of fresh produce for a family in an inner-city neighborhood.
Or make a donation of your choice!
