Hens for Hope: Laying the Foundation for Brighter Tomorrows

In the stillness of the early morning, a quiet revolution begins. At Rice and Beans Ministries, we don’t just raise hens—we nurture hope. Every egg laid by these hens brings us closer to ensuring children start their day with full stomachs and bright futures.

For many children in our community, hunger is a daily barrier to learning. Without a nutritious breakfast, their ability to focus and thrive in school is compromised. That’s where we come in. Rice and Beans Ministries partners with over 40 schools to provide essential food and supplies, bridging the gap between need and nourishment.

Right now, we supply 90 eggs daily for school breakfasts, but it’s not enough to meet the growing demand. To expand our reach and provide more children with the fuel they need to succeed, we aim to increase our hens to 400.

Here’s how you can help:

• $7,000 will build additional chicken houses.

• $1,500 will equip them with water, electricity, and feeders.

• $3,200 will purchase hens ready to lay eggs.

• $2.500 for fencing and concrete flooring

Once operational, caring for these 400 hens will cost $1,000 per month—just $2.50 per month to provide 30 fresh eggs.

This expansion will produce 140,000 eggs annually, feeding children in need and enriching our gardens with compost fertilizer from chicken waste mixed with rice hulls. Every egg makes a difference, offering essential nutrition and fostering a foundation for brighter futures.
