Every mother wants her daughter to grow up radiant, confident, valued, and loved. Every mother wants her daughter to be rooted, grounded in self-worth, clear boundaries, and healthy relationships.

But how do we teach these things? How do we protect the next generation from the patterns we've seen or experienced ourselves?

This July, SAFE is creating a space where these conversations can happen.

The Radiant & Rooted Mother-Daughter Tea Party isn't just an event. It's an investment in prevention. It's a community gathering that says: our daughters deserve better, and we're willing to do the work to give it to them.

🌸 What is Radiant & Rooted?

On Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 12 pm to 2 pm, SAFE will host an elegant summer tea party bringing together mothers and daughters (ages 13+) for an afternoon of connection, education, and empowerment.

Over tea tastings, light brunch, and meaningful conversations, participants will:

✨ Learn to recognize healthy vs. unhealthy relationships
Teen dating violence affects 1 in 3 young people. We'll teach both mothers and daughters how to spot red flags early.

✨ Hear from powerful speakers
Survivor-informed voices will share stories of hope, healing, and the importance of early intervention.

✨ Start conversations that matter
Guided table discussions will give mothers and daughters a safe space to talk about respect, worth, courage, boundaries, voice, trust, and confidence.

✨ Build community connections
Families will meet other mothers and daughters navigating the same journey—creating a network of support beyond the event.

This isn't a lecture. It's not heavy or traumatic. It's soft, hopeful, and empowering—designed to plant seeds that grow into safer futures.

🎯 Why This Matters

The statistics are sobering:

1 in 3 teens experience physical, sexual, or emotional abuse from a dating partner
When young people experience dating violence, they're more likely to face domestic violence as adults
Only 33% of teens in abusive relationships ever tell anyone

But here's the hope:
When we educate young people early, when we equip parents with the language to talk about healthy relationships, when we normalize these conversations, we break cycles before they start.

SAFE has been serving survivors of domestic violence in Tangipahoa, Livingston, and St. Helena parishes for decades. We know that prevention is just as important as crisis intervention.

This tea party is our way of reaching families before violence happens. It's our way of saying: you don't have to wait for a crisis to talk about safety, respect, and worth.

💰 Why We Need Your Support

We've set an ambitious goal: fill 158 seats with mothers, daughters, and community members who want to create change.

Here's our structure:

🎪 1 Presenting Sponsor Table - A local business that believes in our mission will host our speakers and lead by example ($1,800)

🎪 10 Standard Sponsor Tables - Businesses, churches, and community groups will decorate tables representing our core values and host 8 guests each ($500/table)

🎪 8 General Admission Tables - Families who want to attend without sponsoring a table can purchase tickets and join the conversation ($50 per mother-daughter pair)

Our budget: $2,500 for:

Venue rental
Food & beverage (tea tastings, light brunch for 158 people)
Event staffing
Decorations for general admission tables
Educational materials and resources for attendees
Printing (programs, signage, table materials)

🎁 What Your Donation Does

$25 - Sponsors educational materials for one table (conversation cards, resource guides)

$50 - Sponsors one mother-daughter pair to attend who couldn't otherwise afford it

$100 - Covers food and beverage for 20 attendees

$250 - Sponsors decorations and setup for one general admission table

$500 - Sponsors an entire table, bringing 8 people together for this transformative experience

$1,800 - Becomes our Presenting Sponsor, hosting our speakers and leading our community in prevention education

💜 Why SAFE?

Since 1982, SAFE has been Tangipahoa, Livingston, and St. Helena parishes' lifeline for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

We provide:

24/7 crisis support
Emergency shelter
Legal advocacy
Counseling for adults and children
Financial empowerment programs
Prevention education

Last year alone, SAFE:

Answered 2,847 crisis calls
Sheltered 156 survivors and their children
Provided legal advocacy for 89 survivors
Educated 1,200+ community members

But here's what we know: the best intervention is prevention.

If we can teach one teenage girl to recognize manipulation early, we might save her from years of abuse.

If we can give one mother the words to ask, "Are you safe?" we might save a life.

If we can normalize conversations about respect and boundaries, we might stop violence before it starts.
