The Rainy Day Fund 🌦🌈 is a special initiative that helps us cover unforeseen and emergency medical expenses for the animals we rescue.

The fund is named after a brave little rescue we took in last year named Rain (affectionately known as Baby Rain). At just a few weeks old, Rain survived an animal attack that left her with facial scarring on one side. When we took her in, we believed she had healed and was ready for adoption. However, her foster mom noticed issues with her jaw, revealing that her medical challenges weren’t over.

The trauma Rain endured affected the growth of her skull, leading to unexpected expenses, including CT scans, specialist visits, and surgery to improve her bite. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we were able to provide the care she needed, care that totaled thousands of dollars.

Since Rain’s journey, we’ve welcomed many other animals with urgent, unanticipated medical needs. Often, we’re faced with difficult decisions about treatment based on the funds we have available and what we can raise in a short amount of time.

That’s why the Rainy Day Fund is so important. Donations to this fund go directly toward lifesaving care in emergencies, ensuring that when the unexpected happens, we’re ready to act immediately.
