Earlier this year, Pali High suffered devastating damage and losses in the Palisades Fire. The fire tore through the school, leaving classrooms destroyed and students without essential spaces for learning. For now, students and faculty are back to online classes, where they all spent one and a half years during the pandemic.
Over 500 students and 11 staff members lost their homes. In addition to those in the immediate fire zone, students travel to Pali High from 100+ ZIP codes across Los Angeles. Over 30% qualify for free and reduced lunch. All lost in-person access to their campus, friends, teachers, extracurricular activities, and their daily sense of normalcy.
Pali High is in the process of relocating over 2,400 students and our staff to a temporary office space facility that is being built out and fully outfitted for learning. In addition to rent and construction costs, there are moving, technology set-up, security, sports field rental, and myriad other expenses to cover. The costs will greatly exceed designated insurance coverage and other available funding.
Your tax-deductible donation to our Raise Pali campaign directly supports our relocation and rebuild efforts. With your help, we know that Pali High and our community will rise again. Please spread the word and thank you so, so much.
