UPDATE

Thanks to a generous donation by JBG Smith, we can now serve an additional 5000 meals on top of our original goal! We will be expanding our free meals program to include all restaurant workers who have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
Thus far, thanks to YOUR generosity, we have raised over $70,000 for our free meals initiative. Please do keep giving if you can, we will keep serving meals to those in need.
To date, we have shared over 30,000 meals in partnership with World Central Kitchen and Off Their Plate. We are committed to continue supporting the community during this trying time.

ORIGINAL ASK

The impact of COVID-19 on our industry, our city, and our community has been unprecedented. At RASA, we believe we have a role to play in keeping our doors open and our community fed.

We have been providing free meals to medical workers who are risking their lives on the front lines, and to school-children under 18 who no longer have access to meals in the school cafeteria due to COVID-19. We're proud to share that we have given out hundreds of meals over the past few weeks, and hope to feed many more in the days ahead. As a local small business, we're doing all we can and have been funding this out of our own pockets, but we need your help to sustain and scale this work.

Thanks to all of your generous donations so far, we were able to meet the match from anonymous donors, Vernon Davis, and the Vernon Davis Foundation! This means that we will be able to feed thousands of medical workers and school children across the DMV!

We have secured an additional match for $12,500, and now, we are looking to expand the program to feed more community members, including restaurant workers, retail workers, and more. Thanks to the match, your donation has double the impact and directly helps support our community, allows us to employ more team members, and helps provide some much-needed joy and nutrition to those on the front lines.
