What We Do

Rebekah Baines Johnson Residences has over 500 affordable apartments and our residents tell us there's no other place in Austin where you can find the beauty, community, and comfort that RBJ offers at such an affordable price. But what makes our community truly special is the services we provide to our residents.

Housing + Care

Healthy aging requires more than just a home, especially for low-income seniors. The RBJ Model offers residents supportive services and resources which promote continued independence and good health.

Service Coordination is provided by our social workers who work on-site and help residents apply for health insurance, food benefits, and Social Security. Service Coordination connects residents with housekeeping, home health services, and transportation. We provide residents education on the different types of resources, benefits, and service they may be eligible for. Most importantly, we help residents complete the paperwork and online forms necessary to access all types of care.
Serafina Pantry is our on-site food pantry which is open daily to provide residents nutritious food options like produce, meats, dairy, and even dietary foods which they may not be able to afford at the grocery store. Through our partnerships with Central Texas Food Bank and Keep Austin Fed, we distributes thousands of pounds of food to RBJ residents every month.
Wellness & Enrichment programs bring creativity, health, and joy to our residents. We know that friendship and social connection are markers of good health, so each month RBJ offers a unique calendar of free events like exercise and yoga classes, art, creative writing, bus trips to local destinations, and free tickets to Paramount Theater.
