Moving with hope and intention into 2023, we at Restorative Community Practice of Vermont are excited to continue our healing work, find new ways to meet needs and honor values, and broaden our understandings of what it means to restore.

If you're not familiar with our work at RCPVermont, we are a nonprofit practicing compassionate communication, trauma-informed conflict exploration, circle facilitation, and so much more. We strive to bring healing and ease to communities large and small. From families to towns to nations, conflict and harm occurs in all forms and all communities, and we provide support while centering compassion, accountability, and deep listening.

Many of the communities we serve are small, both geographically and in population. Many residents of these small towns have lived in the same area for significant portions of their lives. No conflict is ever completely focused on an issue, detached from the feelings and needs of those involved, but in close-knit communities there is a level of personal and interpersonal investment that both exacerbates conflict and raises the stakes. In times of tension and heightened emotion, unresolved conflicts and unspoken feelings and needs surface. These ripple effects have lasting impacts on the health and wellbeing of every community. We work to mitigate the harm caused by turmoil and trauma before it can compound and cause harm to relationships.

As a small nonprofit operating out of Southeastern Vermont, our organization cannot be present for everyone in need of restoration. For this reason, a substantial portion of our work involves training passionate community members across the globe in circle facilitation, compassionate communication, restorative mindset development, and other skills which help them bring healing to their communities. Because we are committed to providing conflict exploration and circle facilitation services free of charge, we need help from people who share our values and believe in our goals.
