A few months ago we announced the creation of our nonprofit, Building and Giving, and we started taking nominations to help a family in need. We wanted to update you with some exciting news!

We officially received 501(c)(3) status and we have picked our family in need!

Many of you have already reached out and generously offered to help in any way you can. This year we will be renovating the chosen nominee's kitchen—the HEART of the home! Please see below the short story of this amazing family.

We have currently started the first phase of this project which is planning and design. We can't make this happen without you! Every part of this project is fueled by generosity, teamwork, and the shared belief that we’re stronger when we build together. We invite you again to be a part of this next chapter.

A grandmother nominated her daughter and family to create a more accessible kitchen for her granddaughter. The kitchen has always been the heart of their family, where multiple generations gather to cook and spend time together.

During pregnancy, the family learned the granddaughter had a severe form of spina bifida, leading to numerous medical challenges, including many surgeries and ongoing care. Despite this, she has grown into a strong and resilient young girl who loves being in the kitchen and helping cook.

However, the current kitchen is not wheelchair accessible, making it difficult for her to move independently or reach key areas. The family hopes to create a space designed for her needs—one that allows her greater independence and fully supports her love of cooking and family connection.
