How have you been involved with Slant’d? I had the joy of starting Slant'd with a group of friends and served as the magazine's Editor-in-Chief for our first 5 issues. Today, I'm honored to serve as our first Executive Director as a 501(c)(3) to lead us into this new adventure as an AAPI publishing house!
What excites you about this next chapter at Slant’d? This new direction is our chance to empower Asian Americans to believe in their creativity at a younger age and meaningfully change what the literary landscape looks like for Asian America.
Favorite Slant’d piece (Title and Issue)? Taking Names by Tria Chang in Issue 01 inspired me to change my last name to honor my single mother -- s/o to Mama Yen!
