Restoring Integrity to Montclair

The residents of Montclair deserve a City Council that leads with honor, ethics, and respect. For too long, our community has been forced to shoulder the burden of Councilmember Ben Lopez' documented misconduct. This campaign is about more than politics-it is about restoring the integrity of our local government.

​From Censure to Court Judgment

While the City Council formally censured Ben Lopez in 2022, the full extend of this actions has now been confirmed by the California Superior Court. In December 2025, a judge found Ben Lopez liable for the sexual harassment of City employees.

The court's decision included:

• $800,000 in damages awarded to the victims for the harm they suffered.

• A requirement for Ben Lopez to indemnify the City of Montclair for the $550,000 settlement and substantial legal fees paid by taxpayers.

• Confirmation of a pattern of behavior that is "reprehensible" and incompatible with public office.

​Why We Must Act Now

Despite these findings, Ben Lopez remains in office. As residents, we are the only ones with the power to remove him and protect the city's reputation and financial health. The "clock" has started on our signature drive, and we need your help to put this recall on the ballot.
