Sponsoring the Greenhouse Residency

The Greenhouse Residency is the first project to be funded by our Regenerative Future Fund. This is a new winter residency offering artists fertile ground to intuit, research, test, dance, cook, write, forage, film, paint, sculpt, breathe and dig deep into our present moment. Contributions to the Regenerative Future Fund by December 1 will help us bring an energetic community of artists working toward climate justice to Mendocino this Winter.

Mendocino Art Center is entering a new chapter.

We have long been a space for artists to build community, share skills, and find a sense of grounding. As we enter a period of change, with new leadership, we seek to make this space more accessible to more people.

We seek to become a regenerative force for our community and visitors alike.

We commit to upholding social and ecological justice in our community; to build more shared community resources; to share skills for climate resilience and community care; and to welcome those who have been historically excluded.

To achieve this vision, we seek your support through our Regenerative Future Fund.

What will these fund be used for?

These funds will go toward general operating costs, in order to allow us to spend time on programming that generates less revenue but provides more resources to our community. Some of that new programming may include:

Offering resources to our Indigenous neighbors, such as free memberships and space in our gardens to grow and harvest plants
Inviting BIPOC artists, queer artists, and artists of other historically excluded groups to free residencies and retreats
Establishing a scholarship fund for workshops and lowering the cost of workshops
Creating more spaces on our campus for community gathering
Moving toward bilingual or multilingual programming, signage, website, and staff

There are lots of ways to get involved! For example, you can:

Reach out to education@mendocinoartcenter.org with ideas for what kind of new programming you'd like to see at MAC
Volunteer at the MAC (more details to be added soon).
Apply to teach a workshop to share your skills (check back soon for a link).
