Help us raise funds to relocate Sue and her cat “Lil Girl” to a safe, stable, environment while she continues to build her life in recovery. It’s been almost 3 years since we’ve met Sue, and although she’s serious about her recovery journey, her current living situation is undermining her ability to stay well.
The entire time we’ve known Sue she’s always taken initiative to manage her substance use disorder and mental health challenges, and been transparent about where she’s at mentally & physically. We’ve tackled many hurdles together both big and small. Yet her biggest barrier is one she cannot change alone, her home. Anyone that’s in recovery knows that environment is crucial to success, and at this point in time it’s no longer optional for her, it’s necessary. That’s why we are rallying our community to help Sue and Little Girl get to safety in a new apartment.
Sue is doing the work, she’s communicating her concerns, and we’re taking action. Our team has been side by side with her every step of their journey this far, and we know this move will open up opportunities for her that she has never had before. Stable housing makes all the difference between getting stuck in a cycle or truly succeeding. Her and Little Girl deserve to have a fresh start where they will both be truly safe and not just live, but thrive.
Sue is in her sixties with no family support, she’s on a fixed income, and because of this she’s been stuck in a cycle unable to afford to pay a lump sum to make the move. Now she’s in treatment, Little Girl is with a foster family, and we are doing our part to make sure she has somewhere safe to go when she comes home. Every contribution you make no matter the size gets us that much closer to making this goal a reality.
