Twelve years ago, Joyce and Andrew were children. They were running, playing, laughing, and learning in the township of Zonkiziwe. They received care, concern, and support from Christina “Nomusa” Buthelezi and other adults at a local community center.

Since then, health challenges have made it hard for Nomusa to continue her community work. And the center has fallen into disrepair.

But that hasn’t stopped Joyce and Andrew.

Today, out of their home and with the help of local volunteers, they’re recreating an environment of care, concern, and mutual support for nearly 70 children and youth in their community.

Running of our room at their home, Joyce and Andrew, with Nomusa’s encouragement, seek to make use of the center to continue their acts of service in the community.
