My Story: Giving Guitars a Second Life

Hi. I'm Galileo, a high school junior from Maplewood, NJ who loves playing, restoring and customizing guitars.

I discovered there's a high demand for guitars in veterans’ programs, and saw an opportunity to make an impact by sharing the gift of music with others. By repairing, restringing and donating instruments to in-patient programs in NJ, I can help spread the joy of music with those who need it most. I founded ReSTRUNG to turn forgotten guitars into instruments of hope & healing for veterans.

So why am I raising money? The response from the VA programs in NJ has been so great that donated guitars alone aren’t enough to meet the demand. To keep up, I'm raising funds to purchase instruments through partnerships with guitar manufacturers—ensuring more veterans have access to the music they need.
