Galileo’s Story: Giving Guitars a Second Life

Galileo, a high school junior from Maplewood, NJ, is a musician with a talent & passion for playing, restoring and customizing guitars. 

When he discovered the high demand for guitars in veterans’ music therapy programs, he saw an opportunity to make a real impact. By repairing and donating instruments, he could help bring the healing power of music to those who needed it most. With a deep respect for those who have served—including his own family’s long history of military service—Galileo founded ReSTRUNG to turn forgotten guitars into instruments of hope & healing for veterans.

The response from the VA programs in NJ have been so great that donated guitars alone aren’t enough to meet the demand. To keep up, we’re raising funds to purchase instruments through partnerships with guitar manufacturers—ensuring more veterans have access to the music they need.
