While many can lean on family or established support networks during this crisis, former foster youth find themselves in a particularly vulnerable position. Without parents, extended family, or a childhood home to return to, they face the daunting task of rebuilding their lives alone.

This isolation amplifies the hurricane's effects, leaving them to navigate the challenges of lost wages along with securing food, water, and shelter without the guidance or resources that familial support typically provides. Their struggle underscores the critical need for community and organizational support to fill this gap and ensure these young adults aren't left behind in the recovery efforts.
