Whether it was playing with friends, helping my mother push the cart down the grocery isle, or in my bedroom listening to the latest Jackson 5 record – dance was right there with me. It was my solace and comfort in an environment that was many times chaotic. When there was an opportunity to join a performance group at age 13, I was there. We traveled across the US and Canada performing for small and stadium-size crowds. This way of growing up, kept me focused, out of trouble, gave me discipline, creative expression, and confidence. It saved my life. This was just the beginning of my life’s work, which has been to make dance (and the arts) accessible to youth, help them access their highest self through the arts, and ignite their soul!
I want to make sure all kids have access to the arts just as I did. Please join me in providing youth with art instruction and art experiences that will ignite their soul, by donating to Arts Corps.
