Rita has a degenerative muscle disease that, until now, has been successfully managed. Recently, her symptoms have worsened, compromising Rita's comfort and safety. We need your help in getting Rita the medicine she so desperately needs!

Since joining the team, Rita has been the face of EAD's Mobile Happiness Unit. Her patient temperament and empathetic nature have brought comfort and joy to countless people in the Greater Grand Rapids Area. Rita has a special way of taking on people's pain and grief and dispelling it. Her steadfastness has made her a crucial part of the herd.

Equine Assisted Development is a faith-based, non-profit farm in the city providing EAGALA-certified non-riding horse therapy services to those who are hurting. Many of our clients have troubled and traumatic histories, including abuse, sex trafficking, addiction challenges, low self-worth, mental illness, and behavioral and identity issues. We work with at-risk youth, diverse communities, adolescents, adults, families, dementia and Alzheimer's patients, veterans, and more.
