At the Restorative Justice Institute of Oklahoma (RJIOK), we believe in the power of education and the direct impact it has on the future of our community. Our educators must be empowered with the knowledge and skills to develop restorative and flourishing school environments to create a more just and inclusive society.

WHY RESTORATIVE JUSTICE?

The reason why restorative justice is so impactful in schools is that it challenges adults and students to get curious about the unmet needs behind harmful behaviors and fosters conversations that lead to creative solutions.

Rather than treating students’ behaviors as a source of shame that can lead to isolation, restorative justice sees a student’s behaviors as a road map to understand what they need to thrive.

RESTORATIVE SCHOLARSHIPS: EMPOWERING EDUCATORS TO LIBERATE STUDENTS

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to be a part of this transformative journey by supporting our Restorative Scholarship Fund.

Our goal is to raise $6,500 to provide restorative justice training for five Oklahoma teachers in January 2024. This covers the cost of tuition, plus provides a $400 stipend for each teacher.
